New Police Academy Format Coming Fall 2017

Interested in GRCC's Police Academy?

Our next session will be starting in the Fall 2017 semester. The academy will now be two semesters running in the fall and winter semester. To be eligible for the next academy, you will want to make sure to have the prerequisite classes listed below completed by the end of the Summer 2017 semester.

Informational Meeting Dates and Times (meetings last one hour):

  • Monday, February 6, 2017; 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, February 10, 2017; 12:00 p.m.

Meetings are held at the:

Academic Requirements:

You must either complete the prerequisite classes at GRCC, or transfer an Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND take CJ 164.

The prerequisite classes must be passed and completed by August of the start of the academy. You must have an overall GPA of 2.0 to be eligible for the Police Academy.

Criminal History

You cannot have any felonies on your record, including adult expungements. Misdemeanor crimes will be discussed on a case-by-case situation. Law Enforcement demands people with a strong moral character.

Fitness

You must be at a physical fitness level sufficiently high enough to pass the pre-enrollment physical agility test. Do not take your fitness level for granted. You must prepare for this test.
