Commencement (Graduation) Ceremony

Commencement (graduation) ceremonies are held at the end of the Winter semester and are open to students who will complete their degree or certificate requirements within the current academic year.

Students who will complete their degree or certificate requirements during summer session of the current academic year are also invited to participate.

You can still participate in commencement!

Your first step is to purchase your cap and gown from the GRCC Bookstore, first floor Student Center.  The cost is:

  • Cap and Gown - $31.00 plus tax (payment accepted: cash, check, credit card or RaiderCard)
  • Cap Only - $5.00 plus tax
  • Tassel Only - $3.50 plus tax

Second, take your receipt to the Student Life Office, Room 02 Student Center, to let them know you are participating, and to confirm your degree, address, phone and email.
You will also receive:

  • Five (5) guest tickets
  • A commemorative stole from the GRCC Foundation
  • And if you are a Phi Theta Kappa member, you can purchase your PTK key medallion for $25.00

For military service members (past and present) you can pick up a red, white, and blue cord recognizing your service to our country from the Veterans Benefit Office, 118 Main Building. Please bring proof of service.

Commencement (Graduation) Ceremony 2017
Friday, April 28, 7 p.m.
Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse

Graduates: Please arrive at 6:00 p.m.
Report to the First Floor Cook Academic Hall.

Tickets will be required at the door for guests. Each graduate will receive 5 tickets for family and friends. Children under 2 do not require a ticket.

Students must have completed a graduation application by April 6, 2017, to have their name printed in the commencement program.
